Sara Friedmann
Paralegal in Farmington, Michigan
I am a Corporate Paralegal in Farmington, Michigan. Although I started my career in sales support, customer service, and business planning, I've now worked in corporate law, compliance and private company governance since 2013, and consider it my final profession. I spend most of my time reviewing and negotiating general terms agreements and non-disclosure agreements for a wide variety of industrial machinery and automotive customers and suppliers. I've lived in Australia, traveled in Japan & China, and have worked extensively with our Mexico entities, especially in the area of corporate governance.
My focus is working with clients to understand their business and overall strategy, and in return, help them understand and manage risks in the contracts they are undertaking. In-house legal work is a fine balancing act between ensuring your client is fully educated about potential exposure while helping them always in our mutual goal of growing and managing business. I strive to add value every day and find ways to say "yes" rather than reasons to say "no".
I'm a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional with the Society for Corporate Compliance and Ethics, hold my Paralegal certification from the University of Michigan - Flint, and successfully completed the 40-hour Civil Mediation training sponsored by the Institute for Continuing Legal Education.
My interests off the job are varied and range from meditating, reading, and knitting to hiking and running. I'm an avid reader and collect certain editions of several children's book series that I am fond of. I also love true crime and mysteries, gothic and Victorian literature, but am an optimist by nature. I am also active at my daughter's school and extracurricular activities.
