Sara Mayeux

I have two basic lines of work these days, not entirely unrelated to each other. First, I study American history and law at Stanford University. My interests include crime and punishment, the history of adversary criminal trial, changing ideas about the Bill of Rights, and historical memory.

Second, as a side gig, I maintain a blog about prison/jail legal and policy issues, the Prison Law Blog, and I am interested in working on and organizing around criminal justice reform more generally.

I am a currently based on the West Coast, though I was raised in Atlanta, Georgia, and have family roots in Louisiana and New York.
