Sara Messelaar

Sara is a history student finishing up her MA at Humboldt-Universität in Berlin. She is writing her thesis on political strategies of the first women to be elected to German Parliament between 1919 and 1933.

She works as a translator and graduate research assistant at HU'S Gender Studies Department, the Zentrum für transdisciplinäre Geschlechterstudien, and also as a public relations assistant at the Charité's graduate department of Molecular Medicine.

Her passions are craft beer and ukulele. She used to dabble in guerilla knitting. She is known to occasionally claim that her dog is an astrophysicist.
