Kitchen Knives Horizontal Grooves
Both my wife and I are ecstatic about this purchase. We had been using such mediocre knives for so long that we didn't realize how much more fun it is to prepare foods with high-quality, sharp knives. And, as attractive as the glass block is, we also purchased a magnetic strip to hang the knives, rather than taking up the additional counter space for the block.
I bought this set because I expected this it would be of good reasonably quality AND because I wanted something stylish on the counter. They are well balanced, sharp and an overall pleasure to use.
These forged knives just have a different, more substantial feel than the more common stamped ones. The only complaint is that the large knives in the set are a bit shorter that the ones I'm used to, and perhaps require a bit more work to complete the heavier tasks.
These kitchen knives horizontal grooves really cut professionally and they look like they cost about $500 sitting in my kitchen. I used the biggest knife to cut up a watermelon seamlessly, and the smallest paring knife to make and orange "fall" apart. Well worth it and its actually fun to take and wash care of them!
I have knives from Ikea that are half the price, have never been sharpened, and are still sharper than this Victorinox. I could purchase a sharpener but a knife that comes from the factory like this will likely hold its edge very long.
It's a very well-made knife for a 30 buck price-tag. What else do you need from an everyday chef's knife?
This is the best knife I have ever used. Its lightweight and extremely sharp and doesn't cost a bomb. I finally found the perfect knife.
I had this knife before Victorinox took it over but I let someone else keep it. I don't think this knife is as good as it was before this company took over. It is still better than any other knives in the way it is comfortable and sharp to use.
