All things work together to place me where I am right now. When I was in high school, my passion was the environment. My goal: a degree in environmental engineering. My research interests lived in the Gulf Coast marine ecosystem and found their inspiration in historical figures -- such as Rachel Carson -- who impacted the world through their writing. In that tiny interim between high school and college, I turned to journalism -- thinking I could write to make the world a better place. Today I am doing just that in the workaday world, marketing inventions to get them out of the lab into the marketplace where they can make a difference.
