I believe in the power of the imagination to uncover and solve problems and difficulties, Human beings have limitless ingenuity, and have for centuries found innovative and transformational inventions to go beyond the boundaries of the previous generation's knowledge and technical expertise. Across the ages, it has been fear that holds us back, and the fearful will create rules and systems to exert control and order.

I believe that without rule-breakers and troublemakers, our existence would be more ordered and certainly far less interesting! My favourite rule-breakers and troublemakers are Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King, Aung San Suu Kyi and Professor Mary Beard - for defying accepted convention, being incredible inspirational advocates for change and forcing things to be done differently.
