"Ding ding!" That's the sound of something making sense in a kids brain. To me, this is one of the best feelings in the world. I absolutely love working with kids and getting to see the affect and impression I leave on them.
I started my journey of working with kids when I was in 9th grade as a teaching assistant to 2nd and 3rd graders. I learned so much from that opportunity, but most importantly, I learned that I love working with kids. I continued my work as a teaching assistant throughout high school with a variety of different grade levels ranging from 2nd graders to 7th graders.
In addition, I decided to try out to be a coach in a program called TopSoccer, where I would teach kids with special needs how to play soccer. I loved my work with this program and became a student teacher for the special needs program at my high school.
As I have dipped my toes in working with kids of different ages and abilities, I truly realized my passion for working with younger kids. The way they look up to me and watch me in astonishment fills me with excitement. This is why I decided to be an elementary education major. I'm so excited to see what is to come throughout the next few years as I continue to further my passion for teaching.
