Sarah Annunziato is a lecturer in Italian Studies and Director of the Language Program at The University of Virginia, where she teaches all levels of Italian language and culture from undergraduate, to graduate to non-traditional age learners. Sarah has designed courses on Italian cinema, film adaptation, children's literature, crime fiction, Manzoni, Realism and Neorealism, & Dante's Inferno. Her research interests include: children's literature, crime fiction, cinema and media, film adaptation, the Italian-American diaspora, and language pedagogy. She is also editor of La vendemmia. Sarah holds a PhD from The Johns Hopkins University and a BA in Italian and Government from Smith College. Sarah has received the Singleton Fellowship from Johns Hopkins and graduated Cum Laude from Smith College. She has published articles in various journals and books, such as The Journal of Children and Media, The Journal of Italian Cinema and Mass Media, and Americana: The Journal of American Popular Culture, 1900-Present. Sarah enjoys running, swimming, reading, and movies.
