I am a 24 year old prospective medical school from Houston, Texas. I didn't always know I wanted to be a physician until the latter part of my undergraduate career. Recently, the birth of my nephew Eli, impacted my entire outlook on a career in medicine. Eli has Trisomy-21, and has already overcome so many hurdles in his first year of life. He truly is amazing, and he has inspired me to persue a specialization in pediatrics. Additionally, I am a huge advocate for research. Not only because of Eli, but because the majority of my undergraduate career centered around research. I worked in two different labs, and I am currently about to transition into the University of Texas Health Science Center infectious disease lab. Research truly is the future of medicine, and one could not function without the other.
Currently, I am in the application process for marticulation in 2014. Check out my blog for posts on the process, school in general, and additional educational resources. I hope you all enjoy, Cheers!
