Sarah Ammar
Comms pro, Filmmaker, and Idealist in the greater Jacksonville area
Sarah Ammar is a strategic communications professional with over 15 years of experience that spans government, non-profits, and business.
She prides herself in *not* being your typical comms professional with one defined niche. But rather, she has a breadth of experience in marketing, media and community relations, speaking & facilitation, and more.
She loves devising big picture strategy, but also likes getting her hands dirty in tactical work, and to that end is well-practiced in video production, graphic design and content development.
The through-line of her professional experience has been effective storytelling, whether she's speaking to members of the media, public, or users of a particular product. And her main motivator has always been public service. Even in today's climate, Sarah remains an idealist, and hopes she can make a difference through unifying causes.
To that end, she decided to round out her knowledge base and attend the Harold Ramis Film School at Second City in Chicago and study comedic storytelling. In a world that seems divided, getting others to laugh together and see our common humanity seemed like the perfect way to serve. During her time at the Second City, she was awarded the Harold Ramis Screenwriting Fellowship for her TV pilot script, Middle Ground. A comedy about how we're all more alike than we are different, despite the broad brushes we use to paint one another.
Her comedic video work has been recognized in festivals around the country, including the 2020 Women in Comedy Festival sponsored by HBO.
