Sarah Bay
Graduate Student and Science Writer in Atlanta, Georgia
I currently study how developmental pathways can go awry and cause brain cancer. The role of Shh signaling and cilia in cerebellar cancer is the basis of my doctoral work at Emory University, which I plan to complete in the summer of 2016.
I am also a science writing intern for the Genetics Society of America. I cover exciting research for the journals GENETICS and G3.
I'm very interested in how scientists try to communicate their work to each other and to a broader audience. I want to develop a career in editing and reviewing scientific articles, and I want to help the scientific community more effectively reach out to the general public.
In addition to science, I'm interested in pop culture, Marvel comics, makeup, and champagne.
