Sarah Churchill

My name is Sarah Churchill and I am a graduate student in the Leadership in Student Affairs program at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. As a family studies and psychology undergraduate from St. Olaf College, I decided to go into the field of student affairs because of my love for working with and guiding students as they discover their academic and personal goals. I have a strong passion to work with under-represented students and have illustrated this passion through positions I have held as a graduate assistant at the University of St. Thomas.

One important experience that has influenced my view on student development and life in general is that though I am an US citizen, I was raised in Japan. This experience of living in another culture is an important part of my own identity and has provided me with excellent cross- cultural communication skills and general cultural competence. This experience has also instilled a great respect for diversity and has sparked my desire to work with under-represented student populations.
