Sarah Carnes

My name is Sarah Carnes, and I am a senior at the University of Georgia studying Environmental Economics and Management. I will be attending the Georgia Institute of Technology this fall to pursue a graduate degree in City and Regional Planning (of course I will always root for the dawgs!).

Specifically, I am interested in workforce development initiatives and how the structure of labor markets influences a community’s sustainability. I also want to explore the influence of education achievement and job training programs on environmental and civic stewardship.

As a seventh generation Georgian, I am excited to contribute to the development of solutions to relevant issues facing Atlanta citizens today.
