Sarah Carriger
Teacher and Writer in Amsterdam, Netherlands
I’m the director of the International Writers’ Collective, which provides fiction and poetry courses to around 150 adult students per quarterly term—in the Netherlands and online. I’ve been teaching creative writing since 2011 and currently lead advanced fiction workshops.
I grew up in Chattanooga, Tennessee, lived in San Francisco, California and Colombo, Sri Lanka, and then settled down in Amsterdam in 2004.
My first career was as a science writer and communications consultant in international development before I found my back to literature with the founding of the Collective.
I write fiction and poetry and have work published or forthcoming in Gulf Coast, Post Road. Pinch, and X-R-A-Y Literary Magazine.
