I’m Sarah — I'm a Melbourne-based marketing and communications professional with a passion for digital media, content creation, events and storytelling.

I completed my post-grad studies in Communications at Deakin University, Burwood, and since then I've built experience across marketing, hospitality, events, editorial and social media. My qualifications include a Graduate Diploma of Communication (2022), a Bachelor of Communication (Media) and a Diploma of Media & Communication.

Marketing Experience

Hospitality and Events Marketing

Between 2021 and 2025, I worked as a Marketing Manager at Missing Gorilla in Eltham. As the sole owner of the venue's entire digital presence (website, social, SEO, Google Business Profile, digital ordering platforms, content, photography and video, plus event planning and staff training), this role combined everything I enjoy. I managed the website, social media, digital ordering platforms, SEO and Google presence, while also creating promotional content, photography and video content for events and campaigns. A huge part of my role involved planning and promoting live music nights, private functions and community events, including sold-out live music events, themed nights and special occasions like Mother's Day celebrations. As events supervisor, I coordinated digital marketing campaigns across multiple channels, managed event promotion and helped create engaging experiences that brought people together and built a strong local community presence. I was also involved in the operational side of the venue and staff training, so no two days were ever the same.

Automotive Group Marketing

Between 2022 and 2026, I've also worked as Group Marketing Coordinator at Penfold Motors in Burwood. I managed integrated marketing and communications campaigns (campaign strategy, agency and stakeholder management, CRM, vehicle launches, and digital/print asset creation) across multiple dealership sites. The role gave me hands-on experience across campaign coordination, social media management, website content and SEO, CRM campaigns, stakeholder communication and event promotion. I worked closely with dealership teams, OEM representatives and external agencies to roll out integrated marketing campaigns, promotional activity and vehicle launches, while also analysing campaign performance and creating marketing assets across both digital and print platforms. It was a fast-paced corporate role that strengthened both my strategic marketing knowledge and my ability to manage multiple projects at once.

Community Club Marketing

Prior, I worked as Marketing Coordinator at Chirnside Park Country Club, where I managed digital marketing campaigns, EDMs, events and community promotions. I also helped grow the online presence of Puttz MiniGolf ahead of launch through targeted social media and content campaigns.

Editorial Experience

Prior to transitioning into marketing, I worked as an Editorial Assistant at AMTIL (Australian Manufacturing Technology Institute Limited) in Wantirna, where I contributed to magazine production, website updates, social media management and editorial writing. During that time, I interviewed StageKings about how they adapted during COVID-19, one of my favourite projects I've worked on. See the interview here.

Hospitality and Retail Experience

Alongside my marketing career, I've built a strong foundation in hospitality and retail, with several years of hands-on customer service experience. As a hospitality manager, I've led staff through busy service periods, coordinated day-to-day venue operations and helped train new team members, all while keeping the customer experience front and centre. My retail supervisor experience taught me how to manage a team, handle stock and merchandising, and stay calm and solutions-focused during busy trade. Across both, strong customer service has been the constant thread, whether that's resolving an issue on the spot, building rapport with regulars, or simply making sure someone's experience with a business feels genuine and well looked after.
