Sarah Dolamore

My name is Sarah and i’m 23 years old, I live in Guelph, Ontario with my partner Jon and our cat Birdy. I completed my bachelor’s degree in Studio Art at the University of Guelph in the fall of 2011.

I’ve been working as a landscaper/gardener for approx. eight years, first with my mother’s landscape company Msplants in Caledon and recently as a freelance gardener in the city of Guelph. I owe the lion’s share of my gardening knowledge to my mother, she’s a great teacher. Thanks mom!

I began to think about food in my teens, and have aspired to learn how to grow it for years now. My older cousin Anna has always been a huge inspiration, I’ve watched her move gracefully between farm internships, humanitarian work and all around awesomeness. Currently she’s wwoofing in New Zealand and hopefully we’ll farm together in the future!

In October I answered a job posting on Kijiji and boom, I’ve got my dream job working at an organic farm just South of Guelph. Gerry Stephenson at Drumlin Farm has been amazing in teaching me the ins and outs of an organic farm, which still has plenty of work to be done even in winter! I’m really looking forward to spring and summer on the farm, it’s going to be great!
