Senior Learning Technology Advisor at the University of Derby, formerly at the University of Sheffield, Nottingham Trent University and the Open University.
As an education professional, my main area of interest is in the support of learning, with a particular focus on the use of technology to enrich the learning experience for students, educators and professional support staff in formal and informal settings. I have experience of university teaching and workplace learning delivery, both face-to-face and online, and also course administration / documentation.
I am particularly interested in the role of informal and formal learning communities, especially within the area of professional development in Higher Education. I maintain an active interest in new developments in education, having Masters Degrees in Education and in Online and Distance Education, am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and hold Certified Membership of the Association for Learning Technology (CMALT). I set up the East Midlands Learning Technologists' Group and am on the Academic Support Group of UCISA, I chair the CMALT Development Group for ALT and have been a member of the Heads of eLearning Forum.
