English, Teacher, and Mother in Nornheim, Günzburg, Germany

Hire me

I'm a native British English speaker, now living in Günzburg, Bavaria, in South Germany.

I originally come from Cambridge, England.

I've been living in Germany since 2007. I first lived in Neu-Ulm, then in Ulm, before then moving here to Günzburg.

In my first year here, I learnt German. Then from 2008, I started teaching English.

When I became pregnant my first child, I went on maternity leave and then parental leave. I then had my second child.

I returned to work in 2023. I taught Kindergarten children English. Now I teach online - two private students, and one company group.

I taught Technical, Business, and General English, plus English for Special Purposes, (in and around Ulm/Neu-Ulm - then in Günzburg).

I teach groups and 1-1 students. In the past, my private lessons (at mine or the students‘ homes) were tailor-made to their needs. This included the materials we used.

Helping school children with their school work, was based on homework students received, and included helping them with grammar, etc,…
I used my own materials and also the materials from their schools.

I taught „Healthcare Management“ university students at the Neu-Ulm Hochschule (University of Applied Sciences).

I worked as an English teacher at a primary school (Grundschule) in Ulm. This included teaching two groups of children, once a week each.

Additionally, I taught Business English in various different companies, working for The Pyramid Group, O'Connor Language and Communication for Business, and also at the Ulm Volkshochschule (Ulm Adult Education Centre). Once I moved to Günzburg in 2015, I worked at the local Volkshochschule there as well.

In 2012, I studied CELTA (Certificate for Teaching English as a Second Language to Adults). Whilst working, I then studied (via distance learning) the Distance DELTA (Diploma for Teaching English as a Second Language to Adults). I received a Pass with Merit for Module 2 (2013) and a Pass for Module 3 (2014).

I am still an active member of ELTAU (English Language Teaching Association in Ulm). I attended their teacher-training workshops in the past. I now continue to attend them both online/in person.

I also attended some of the IATEFL BESIG (International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language) (Business English Special Interest Group) annual conferences. (Stuttgart 2012, Prague 2013, and Bonn 2014).

I am looking forward to progressing my career prospects, working in another environment (aside motherhood), and I continue to enjoy teaching.
