I am a metalsmith/jewelry designer and manufacturer based in Oakland, CA.

I've been making jewelry since 1976. I love tools and working with metal. My current designs are inspired by Japanese katagami, hand cut paper stencils used for silkscreening kimono fabric. I spent six years living in Tokyo teaching English and studying traditional Japanese metalsmithing. I have also travelled to China twice with grants funded by the Durfee Foundation for extended lengths of time to study various aspects of traditional metalsmithing and jewelry.
