Sarah Connors

Student, Mother, and Public Speaker in NY

I currently work as the Outreach / Visitor Services Manager at MANITOGA / The Russel Wright Design Center in Garrison, NY. I manage the tour program and a staff of 10, which we continue to expand despite the pandemic. My favorite part of my job is sharing such a beautiful place with others. I was formerly the Executive Administrator / Museum Manager at the Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art in Peekskill, New York. I'm also currently working towards my Masters degree in art history at Hunter College, with a focus on Latin American art, specifically Ecuadorian art. As a non-traditional student, I have worked full-time to put myself through college, earning my Associate Degree in Art Studies at SUNY Dutchess, followed by two separate Bachelor degrees at Manhattanville College (BFA in Fine Arts and BA in Art History). Now as a single mom, I’m more determined than ever to continue my education and growth.

My goal is to complete my Master's Degree (and possibly my PhD) and continue working in the arts/culture field. In the past I've had plenty of experience in administrative and assistant positions, all of which I have held while putting myself through school, and I’ve now amassed 5 years in the arts/non-profit field.

I spend most of my time with my son Aiden, hiking and adventuring, and exposing him to all the beauty and fun the world has to offer. Art, nature and music are critical to my well being; I can’t live without them.
