I help companies and people reach their full potential. As a former entrepreneur and business owner, I enjoy the challenges and triumphs associated with making a business the best it can be. As a life coach I enjoy helping people find and live their passion and purpose.
My company, Jaqua Beauty, started in my garage in Santa Barbara and grew to a multi-million dollar business within ten years.
I learned a lot along the way about creating products people love and need vs. creating products that have no purpose other than to make money for the people selling the products.
Early on I understood the value of hiring people with high integrity who shared the vision of my company, which was to uplift women. I became highly successful at opening new accounts (Nordstrom, Bloomindales, QVC, Target), but I never thought of myself as a great sales person. I simply communicated my passion for my products and tuned in to the buyer to make sure they got what they needed vs. what I wanted them to have.
As the success of Jaqua skyrocketed and more people with ivy league business degrees joined my team, I learned a tough but powerful lesson: don't sell what you don't love, no matter how many well-paid advisors tell you otherwise. Yes, money can be saved by cutting corners, but the cost (losing loyal business) is too high.
In the early years of my company I handled all of our PR, which allowed me to understand the stresses and demands of magazine editors on a deadline, who are constantly on the hunt for something unique and interesting to write about. I met often with editors and producers at InStyle, People, Forbes, Oprah, The View and many more, who published frequent articles and blurbs about my products and company story.
I learned a simple formula as a business owner that I pass on to the companies and individuals I help. My simple formula is: Passion + vision + orginality + making a positive difference for others + giving back + having fun = success and happiness.
I am currently the marketing director and business developer for a start up company, SpiroFIT (an online exercise company), as well as marketing director and life coach for Seven Seas Foundation, a non-profit organization that helps young men find their passion and purpose.
