Sara Pereira
I am a Brazilian-American professional in Chicago. I was born in the Brazilian city of Belo Horizonte and grew up in Coral Springs, Florida. I speak Portuguese as my native language. I also speak Spanish and English. I obtained leadership, adaptability and interpersonal skills from an early age thanks to both of my parents, Silvana Pereira, bestselling author and speaker, and Edson Pereira, international speaker and author of motivational books. I have a sister and a brother- Livia and Thiago.
Originally, I wanted to be a professional singer. In 2003, a then-16-year-old I recorded and album in Nashville,TN with my brother at my father's insistence. The following 3 years, we went touring back and forth between Brazil and the US to have an opportunity to walk in the music scene. This exposure to cultural diversity has made traveling and languages two of my greatest passions. Communicating with people in their own language has enabled me to build lasting relationships.
I've worked in business firms in Florida, New York and now in Chicago for over seven years. I've lived in Brazil, England and the USA. In the end of 2010, I moved to Brazil and started my own business teaching private lessons. Working independently made me appreciate and understand the hard work required to make your ideas come to life. I learned that you'll be more motivated to do those things if you're working on things you're passionate about and have a talent for, and you'll be more sensitive to making it your best possible work.
