Sara Santos
Architect in Madrid. Spain
I was born in Bilbao (Spain) in 1979. I am the youngest of six siblings -two brothers and four sisters- and I promise: I wasn't spoiled!
I moved to Madrid (Spain) in 1998 to study my Bachelor and Master of Arts in Architecture. I graduated in 2003 with honors by the Polytechnic University. Madrid School of Architecture.
Then, I started working as an architect focused mainly in ephemeral architecture, temporal installations and interior design. In this time, I won several competitions by my own.
I began to collaborate from 2004 to 2010 with different architectural firms in bigger projects, mainly residential projects and master planning, as well as providing other real estate services.
In 2010 I moved to New York City to study a Master of Urban Design at The City College Of New York City (CUNY) directed by Michael Sorkin.
Back in Spain in 2012, I started working as a researcher in urban affairs consultancy projects and as a consultant rendering real estate services.
Now, I am Managing Director at Maxxima REA, a boutique firm that provides Real Estate and Corporate Finance services.
Also, I run a blog about how citizens interarct in the urban space and the strategies that foster positive social change: Narrative Urbanism. Check it out: narrativeurbanism.com
