My Tech Journey so far: I am learning at an unbelievable pace.
What I see Tech doing for me and/or my students: I use Tech to help me organize evidence of student learning. I need help learning more about Google Docs and other online word processors. I also need to stop saving documents in my "M" drive!
Some things I’ve used technology for…
• Communicating with parents
• Connecting to the larger FSL community
• Communicating with other teachers (Board and Building)
• Engaging students in a summative task
• Hooking students into a new concept
• Differentiating a task
• Assessing knowledge and understanding
Hurdles I have faced: My own patience and not having enough time to just play/explore new apps/programs.
Apps/forums that I am trying to use….
• Google classroom
• Kahoot
• OneNote
• Green screen
• QR codes
Questions I have…
Which system should I work with – Google or Microsoft? At this point, I use a bit of both depending on ease of use for a particular task.
Where I’d like to go next….
I really would like to use technology to change how I teach. I don't want to simply use technology to augment my teaching. I recently learned about the SAMR model of technology use in the classroom.
Here is a great link:

I will get to the Augmentation level.
How I see my students using tech...
I would also like to guide my students into the "Augmentation" level of the SAMR model. I find that we are all hovering between the "Substitution" and "Augmentation" levels.
I also want students to realize that they must make their learning visible to me, even if they are working on an iPad. It's their responsibility to get their work to me. I need to show them how.
