Sara Zainali Somedel is the Captain of Iran National Dragon Boat team since 2006. She won 3 Bronze medals in Dragon Boat World Nations Championships 2010 (Szeged), Bronze medal in Asian Dragon Boat Championships 2010 (Wujin), Bronze medal in Dragon Boat Club Crew World Championships 2010 (Venice). Since 2017 and several medals in other international Dragon Boat events, she became the Head Coach of Iran National Dragon Boat women team while she is still paddling and steering in the boat! She is the Dragon Boat International Technical Race Official for both International Dragon Boat Federation (IDBF) and International Canoe Federation (ICF). She had been selected as judge and officiated at Dragon Boat Club Crew World Championships 2014 (Ravenna), Dragon Boat World Nations Championships 2015 (Welland), Dragon Boat Club Crew World Championships 2016 (Adelaide) and Dragon Boat World Nations Championships 2018 (Gainesville). She is selected as the member of IDBF Women's Commission and member of Dragon Boat Committee in Iran Canoe, Rowing & Sailing Federation. She is also the Chairman of Talent Identification Committee in Iran Canoe, Rowing & Sailing Federation. Sara has a Bachelor degree in Physical Education & Sport Science and a Master degree in Sport Bio-mechanics both from Azad University of Tehran.
