I am a wife and mother who just happens to love running, zumba and just plain working out.

I started doing Zumba in August of 2010 to lose weight. I quickly found myself addicted to the super fun activity and made some REALLY wonderful friends. I was going 5 days a week!

In March of 2011, a friend asked me to join her on the Kelly's St. Pat's day run/walk. It was COLD! We ran a few blocks and walked, then ran some more and walked. I was instantly hooked on running!

It was a week later that I decided I would sign up for and run my first 5k. The Bridge the Gap to Health race put on by the Medical Group in Quincy, IL. My Hometown.

I placed 3rd in my age division in my first race ever! I have since placed second in a race as well. I LOVE IT! During the Zumba and now running I have lost 65 pounds. I have kept it off for nearly a year (April 2nd).

I ran an 11k for Veteran's day and blew out my knee. It took me a month to get back out there, but I did just that. I got back out there. I am back up to a 6 mile long run.

I have signed up to join the half marathon training program for this year's BTG race. The first meeting is January 28th and I JUST CAN'T WAIT!
