My name is Saschea-Nykhol Carr and I love to dance and perform. Dance plays a huge role in shaping me to be the person I am today. It has helped me gain an abundance of new friends that I am honored to call my family and it has helped increase the confidence levels I have in myself. Growing up on the small island of Jamaica, I only had one friend when I was 7. I was always considered the shy kid so I never talked or interacted with much people. I was never athletic so I didn’t get involved in sports and I wasn’t “cool” enough or confident enough in myself to try out for cheerleading. It wasn’t until I had moved to Georgia a year later until I pushed myself to audition for the dance ministry at my church. From taking that huge step I began to be more confident in myself. That confidence led to performing in front of thousands of people in dance competitions to performing in talent shows, musicals, drama performances, and football games as a part of the Color Guard. With all the changes that have occurred in my life there is one thing that will remain constant and that is dance.
