Germany, München

Born in Munich, born to be a night owl – at only 16 years of age, sasha.b started working in the nightlife of Munich; back then – when techno dominated the 90s.

When he was 18, a DJ he was friends with gave sasha.b his first 20 records, which kickstarted his aspirations to become a DJ. Before the events, during which he actually operated the cloakroom, he fiddled with the turntables and his precious new vinyl – and he was instantly hired as a warm-up DJ for the “44 Degree” parties in Munich’s legendary Nachtwerk Club. A 5-year residency at “Electric Delicate” in the Nachtwerk Club followed, at the time still sporting the DJ name “Brain X”.
He worked side by side with colleagues like Thomas Schumacher, Chris Liebing, Toni Rios, Paul Cooper, Massimo and Marco Cannata. In addition he manned the turntables in a number of other clubs in Munich, among other events at the legendary after party “Das Wort zum Sonntag”, creating a strong reputation as party animal.

In 2002 sasha.b got inspired by his “namesake” DJ Sasha to change his style towards tech/prog-house.

Starting in 2008, he was regularly travelling between Munich and Zurich. The back and forth first was a reason for him to adopt digital controllers instead of the old school decks, then it lead to a creative break. Of course sasha.b remained loyal to the music, even in his self-imposed sabbatical: Since 2010, he is hosting the weekly radio show “sorted!” on globalbeats.fm, playing for a constantly growing fan base.

Always looking for new influences and inspiration, he is participating in the “Ableton Live Producer Certificate Program” of the New York music school Dubspot, with instructors John Selway and Steve Nalepa. That way he keeps broadening his musical horizon and honing his producing and mixing skills.

Being such a natural born night owl, it was pretty clear that sasha.b would not be able to do without the feeling of rocking a live crowd. Now permanently back in his hometown of Munich, sasha.b is back in DJ action: 18 years’ worth of experience as a DJ and an instinctive sense for the mood of a crowd meet fresh ideas, renewed energy and the perfect track mix for every tech/proghouse event.

It’s simple: once a DJ, always a DJ.
