Hi, I’m Sasha-Ann. I’m a national award-winning journalist based in Chicago. I’m also the Host of ‘Reset with Sasha-Ann Simons’, a daily, live, midday flagship talk show from WBEZ, Chicago’s NPR station. Before this, I worked in Washington, D.C., telling stories for and hosting the NPR daily talk show, 1A, which can be heard on more than 420 stations across the country.
My most recent accolades include a 2022 Peter Lisagor award for health reporting and a 2020 Radio Feature award from the National Association of Black Journalists. I also received a 2019 Edward R. Murrow award from the Radio Television Digital News Association for my work with public radio station WAMU on the topics of race, identity and economic mobility in the nation's capital.
I have worked in the news industry for 16 years and have studied producing for entertainment television and film. Email me at [email protected] for freelance opportunities and speaking engagements (including panel discussions on racial inequity, immigration, housing/homelessness, food apartheid and juggling motherhood and career).
