To weave a shared story from our past, with the present, and to the future, you must begin within an archives.
First and foremost, I'm passionate about telling stories. Stories about marginalized groups, historic events, community movements, and more, are all possible because of the intentional collection, preservation, and access to archival repositories. When an individual identifies that they are also a part of this shared history, a sense of belonging grows, creating a shared bond.
I am a professionally trained archivist who has worked in college archives, special collections, government archives, and museum archives since 2009.
I have professional interests in digital asset management and preservation best practices, supporting accessibility and neurodiversity in libraries and archives, mentoring students and new archival professionals in the field, and the intersection of records use and preservation between personal and professional use as archivists.
I currently serve as a Council member for the Society of Ohio Archivists and an editorial board member for the Midwest Archives Conference's journal Archival Issues. I am an active member of the Society of American Archivists and the International Council on Archives.
