WhatsApp: Beneficiaries can send the word "status" to 082 046 8553 on WhatsApp and follow the prompts to receive their application status.
USSD Code: Dialing 12069277# or 1203210# on a mobile phone allows users to navigate through prompts to check their status.
Types of SASSA Grants
SASSA offers several types of grants to support different segments of the population:
Older Person’s Grant: For South African citizens or permanent residents aged 60 years or older who meet the means test criteria.
Child Support Grant: Aimed at primary caregivers of children under 18, ensuring basic needs are met.
Foster Child Grant: For individuals fostering children placed in their care by a court order.
Disability Grant: For adults aged 18 to 59 who are medically certified as disabled and meet the means test requirements.
Care Dependency Grant: For caregivers of children under 18 with severe disabilities requiring permanent care.
Grant-in-Aid: An additional grant for individuals receiving other grants who require full-time care due to physical or mental disabilities .
