After having worked some unskilled IT jobs in the UK I decided it was time to to gain some qualifications. I moved to Copenhagen, Denmark and started on a Bachelor program in Software Engineering. I chose the program specifically because it was took a more practical approach that many others. Although it did include theoretical aspects on top of the practical work. During the program we were required to do two internships. The first I did at Rambøll, an architecture and engineering company, where I worked on an interesting project working with a "virtual reality" in which to view buildings. The second was working with a Java Enterprise application using RESTful web services and an Android client. For part of this time I have had a part time job as a Student Developer at the IT-University of Copenhagen. Mostly focusing on pages for the universities intranet to provide services to both students and staff. Much of the older systems are written in SML due to the head of the university being involved in the creation of the language. Most new services we have made are using C# and MVC3. This work has provided me with additional experience in both traditional c# code and web development. I had considered doing a masters on top of my studies but after my internships and my expererience at the IT-University of Copenhagen I wish to make the step out into the world and start doing what I love full time.
