I am a journalist by training, graduated from the University of Tampere. I have worked as a foreign news editor and sub-editor. Now I am head of communications at the Cancer Society of Finland, managing editor of Syöpä-Cancer magazine and editor-in-chief of Focus magazine of the Cancer Foundation. I am currently the president of the European Union of Science Journalists´Associations, EUSJA, which has its office in Strasbourg, France and in the board of directors of the International Cancer Information Service Group..

I am very interested in art and culture, music is especially close to my heart - writing is what I have done for living since 1976.
