Satyam Nayak

I am a software developer working for a company that delivers Geospatial solutions with mostly .NET technologies. I get to try my hand at various cross-cutting concerns as a part of an Agile/Scrum team, but my primary assignment is to implement new features / code changes.

Off the clock I like to pick up new skill sets - mostly ones that will either help me serve our eventual android overlords well or to destroy them, depending on how kickass of a bike they'll let me ride. In short: outdoor adventuring, HAM radios, soldering, programming, microcontrollers, and salsa dancing.

About the picture: The background picture was taken in August 2010 with a used Canon PowerShot camera. This was the winning entry to a nationwide competition to take the pictures of the curvature of the Earth for under $250. I designed the camera rig for the payload which also included a helium balloon, a parachute, and a radio based GPS tracker.

There are plans to send more stuff into space soon, so stay tuned!
