Born and brought up in one of the least developed and extremely backward domain of India, Saurabh did not go to any school till 10. He spent more than half of his life in a rural village of India. With sheer determination and will power, he scripted his own fate in next seven years. Ever since he began his education, he became an inspiration for thousands in his community, and today is a role model for millions in his country. He worked with a non-profit working in the field of education for four years. He is on a mission to power the dreams of millions of unprivileged kids in India who get sidetracked from the mainstream of society due to the lack of monetary resources and opportunities. In 2014, he was honored by the U.S government for his leadership and entrepreneurship endeavours in India. He is also the youngest recipient of the prestigious Hansen Fellowship which is given to 15 International and 5 U.S leaders and changemakers every year. For his extraordinary academic, leadership, and entrepreneurship achievements, he also received the tGELF and Khemka fellowship from Khemka Foundation that belongs to SUN Group of Companies. At present, he works with the UN Secretary General's Envoy for Youth, Ahmad Alhendawi, on post 2015 MDG goals. In past, he has served as the Regional Ambassador for India to UNEP Tunza(eco generation). He was invited by Child Finance Internation to attend the Annual UN Youth Summit at UN Headquarter in New York. He raised seed funds from a California based Foundation to launch his scoial enterprise, Book Connect, that lets financially and socially disadvantaged kids have access to books at the lowest possible price. He is working on a bigger project, Chain-X that will significantly cut down the cost of education in India and will let even the poorest kid go to school. A documentary/biopic named Hope@India has also been made on his life that is to air on MTV, MTV Indies, Viacom 18 and several film festivals in India.
