Saurav Bhadra is an Indian filmmaker, screenwriter, and lyricist known for his culturally rooted stories in Bengali cinema. Born in Siliguri, West Bengal, he holds a Master’s degree in Film Studies from Jadavpur University and a Diploma in Film Direction from the state-run institute Roopkala Kendro. He produces his work under his creative banner, Three Act Shots.
Bhadra’s directorial style focuses on human identity, tradition, and social critique. His breakthrough diploma short film, Bod Jaat (The Outcast) (2019), won international acclaim for its raw portrayal of the caste system. His highly praised documentary feature, Faujdar - The Last Man Standing (2025), was selected for the 31st Kolkata International Film Festival. The documentary chronicles the life of an artisan preserving an 87-generation lineage of traditional Dashavatar cards. His other notable directorial works include the shorts Cataclysm (2020) and Garod (2026).
