"Go and see" -- those three words have fueled my passion for travel throughout my life. I love, and have always loved, to seek new experiences. I would describe myself as adventurous, among other adjectives. In my senior year of High School, I visited Italy with 9 of my closest friends. We road tripped through the country and created memories that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. These experiences not only molded me into the person I am today, but also and cultured me as well. We traveled without our parents, which forced me to learn how to be independent, especially in a foreign place. Through my trip to Italy, I fell in love with places I did not even know existed like Assisi, Italy. I ate foods that overwhelmed and excited my taste buds like prosciutto and goat cheese. My friends and I bonded in a way that will keep us close for lifetimes to come. Not only did my visit to Italy teach me so much, but travel in general has done so. Each time I visit a new place, I learn new things about people and the ways they live, which impacts me and the way I live. Before I started to travel and genuinely appreciate my experiences, I was so narrow-minded and had a limited idea of what other realities looked like. Now, while I do not know everything about the world, I have a greater understanding of how the rest of the world lives and how I can live better. Because of these experiences and realizations, I urge you to also "go and see."
