Sayed Abazar Wahedi
scholar, Filmmaker, and spiritual guide in San Jose, California, USA
I’m Sayed Abazar Wahedi, a California-based Islamic scholar, filmmaker, and spiritual guide dedicated to blending tradition with modernity. Originally from Afghanistan, I spent over 12 years in Qom, Iran, studying Islamic theology and advanced Dars Kharij. My family’s rich heritage in Islamic scholarship deeply influences my work and commitment to community.
I serve as the Resident Alim at the Islamic Center of Fatimiyyah in Hayward, CA, providing spiritual guidance and fostering intergenerational understanding. With a master’s degree in film and television writing and directing, I use visual storytelling to share the values of Islam in innovative ways.
From my Quran recitations to my work documenting the Arbaeen pilgrimage, I strive to inspire faith, compassion, and unity while helping others connect with their spirituality in meaningful ways.
