I am an animal scientist with a major interest in animal nutrition and minors in animal product quality and environmental physiology. I graduated from the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Nigeria with B.Tech (First Class Hons.) Animal Production and Health in 2010 and subsequently awarded with the Academic Excellence Award for the best graduating student. After graduation, I had few years of professional experience working as an Animal Food Chain Officer/Livestock Supervisor, and as a Quality Assurance and Control Supervisor in the livestock production and animal feed sectors respectively. Presently, I’m utilizing the prestigious Erasmus Mundus Scholarship to study for a double degree European Master in Sustainable Animal Nutrition and Feeding at the Wageningen University and Research Centre (WUR), the Netherlands and Ecole d`Ingenieur de Purpan, France (2013-2015). My research interests include: Feed formulation science; Nutritional assessment of Biofuel co-products and alternative feedstuffs in poultry and swine production; and Manipulation of poultry and swine gut integrity to improve performance, nutrients and greenhouse gas emissions, and product quality using diverse Nano- and Bio-tech Innovative Products. In addition, I`m interested in mechanistic modelling of how research results in these areas could be meta-analyzed to improve the prediction of productive performance and mitigation of environmental impacts of poultry and swine production. To me, it’s all about contributing my academic manpower to achieving sustainable food security, alleviating poverty and enhancing rural livelihood through livestock production in a challenging global economic climate and declining ecological footprint.
