Sonia Bartol

Sonia Bartol Sánchez es doctora en Antropología de Iberoamérica por la Universidad de Salamanca. Anteriormente se licenció en Antropología Social por la Universidad de Sussex del Reino Unido y en Sociología por la Universidad de Salamanca. Ha publicado numerosos artículos y ha impartido conferencias nacionalmente e internacionalmente. Ha sido docente tanto en grados y postgrados en la Universidad de Salamanca, en la Universidad Internacional de La Rioja y actualmente, en la Universidad Isabel Primera de Castilla.

Ha dado clases en las asignaturas Educación Personalizada e Inteligencia Emocional (con Mindfulness) en los grados de Educación Infantil y Primaria en la UNIR.

Sonia Bartol Sánchez holds a PhD in the Socio-Cultural Anthropology of Iberian and Latin America studies from the University of Salamanca. She also has degrees in Social Anthropology from the University of Sussex in the UK and in Sociology from the University of Salamanca.

Her doctoral fieldwork and thesis focused on Afro-American religions in Brazil, where she researched colonial domestic history, religion, slavery and communitas. Dr. Bartol´s interest in these areas developed from an ongoing interest in domestic life and folklore in her home region of Castilla-León (Spain). Having lived in the UK for a total of twelve years, Dr. Bartol has also developed an interest in many aspects of British domestic history and material culture, including the home front in the forties, Willow Pattern porcelain and ´Timewarpian´ people, who live the lifestyles of previous periods in the contemporary UK.
