Scorched Birth
Melbourne, Australia
Melbourne duo Scorched Birth has been on hiatus for most of 2012, preparing this stunning new compilation of previously unreleased tracks by vintage synth masters Vangelis, Giorgio Moroder, Herbie Hancock, Dave Grusin, Goblin (with Dario Argento), and Jean Michael Jarre. The tracks have been sourced from mostly private collections of bootlegs, concert performances, and movie scores recorded while these keyboard maestros toured Australia through the 70s and 80s. Such is the strength of this collection, its difficult to choose a highlight, but fans will surely be delighted by gems like Vangelis' sketch for the Bladerunner soundtrack from an exclusive 1981 show in Sydney, and Herbie Hancock's intro for an un-aired Australian promo for the TV series Night Stalker which dates from around the same time as his legendary work on Death Wish. Scorched Birth is proud to present this richly atmospheric and truly speaker-popping compilation of unknown classics from the golden age of Moog-induced horror and scifi - a must for headphone trippers and lovers of vintage darktronica!
