Samantha B. Northart
Samantha is a graduate of the Cincinnati School for Creative and Performing Arts, where she majored in Musical Theater, Vocal Music, and was a founding member of the ROAR acting company under the direction of David A. White III. Over the past several years, she has traveled the world performing and sailing the high seas as the Lead Vocalist on the MV Century, the MS Volendam, and most recently the MS Voyager. In addition to her international work, Samantha has toured the nation with Theatre IV and Mad River Theater Works and has been seen regionally in many roles including three seasons with the Cincinnati Children’s Theatre where she was seen in Aladdin, Noah’s Ark, Suessical, Rudolph and as Mulan in Disney’s Mulan. Some of her favorite roles include: Sr. Mary Leo (the novice) in Nunsense II, Young Woman in Side By Side By Sondheim, Yonah in Children of Eden, Rennebelle in Radio Gals, Mary Arena in Human Comedy, Susan in Tick, Tick, Boom!, Lucy in You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, Suzy in the Regional Premiere of Winter Wonderettes, Philia in A Funny Thing...Forum, Robin in Godspell, Rosie in Bye, Bye, Birdie, for which she won an Orchid Award for Best Actress and Liza in Peter Pan which allowed her to “fly”. Samantha was also part of the opening cast of Walt Disney's ENCORE! (a musical revue) under the direction of Patti Columbo at Tokyo Disney Sea in Japan. She was seen in the World Premiere casts of The Gospel According to Tammy Faye as Tammy Faye Bakker, Belle in A Christmas Carol and Lead Woman in War Games at Ensemble Theater of Cincinnati. Samantha can be heard singing on the original cast recordings of Stella Luna and Other Tales, War Games, The Gospel According to Tammy Faye, and A Christmas Carol in the roles she originated. She has also shared the stage with the Cincinnati Pops under the direction of Erik Kunzel several times including their televised Halloween special where she was a featured singer in the Andrews Sisters tribute. Samantha was honored to be chosen to sing “Memory”, one of Kunzel’s all time favorite songs, during the ceremony inducting the Maestro into the Classical Music Hall Of Fame, May 2009. Samantha was most recently seen in her New York City debut as the Winter Queen in the World Premiere of The Battle Of Spanktown. She studys with Peter Jensen at T. Schreiber Studios in NYC and filmed a feature and short in Orlando & Philly, and will be appearing in NYC in The Story Underneath w/Stacie Pearlman.
