Sophie Tsairis

Originally from Maine, Sophie Tsairis spent the better part of her post-collegiate years expanding her backcountry knowledge by exploring the Rocky Mountains on foot and rope. Determined to extricate herself from the league of the writing baristas, she opted to pursue environmental journalism as a grad student at the University of Montana, to improve her ability to express and articulate knowledge and experiences about nature and the environment in a way that will motivate people to listen and move them to change. So far, working on becoming a professional journalist has mostly increased her consumption of espresso.
