Scarlett Olson

I grew up in a multicultural family in San Antonio, Texas. At the age of 11, I discovered a passion for singing and performing. Whether performing traditional Latin music or electronica, my music developed a strong influence from Latin culture through family ties and my time in Mexico. While living in Mexico City in 1998 and 1999, I sang and collaborated with Asallam, a fusion rock band. For several years I sang with The Brew, before starting my own 5 piece Latin jazz band, Mashea, in addition to singing with the hip hop jazz quartet, the Urban Jazz All Stars. I have performed at many of the leading music venues in both San Antonio and Austin. In 2004, I began to focus on writing music and collaborating with DJs and producers. In 2009, I started a recording project with Michael Ramos of Charanga Cakewalk, one of Austin's finest musicians and songwriters, to complete my first solo album. The Little Things is a fusion of Latin, electronica, cumbia, reggae, tejano and pop. I now live in Austin and am working on my second album.
