Samantha Carlisle

I am Mrs. Carlisle, the Instructional Technology and Data Specialist for Honey Creek Elementary School located in Rockdale County, Georgia. Let me take this opportunity to tell you a little bit about myself. I have worked extensively in the Educational Field since 2000. Living by John Stuart’s philosophy “The pupil who is never required to do what he cannot do, never does what he can do,” inspired my thirst for knowledge. From an early age, I knew I wanted to work in education. With this goal in mind I graduated with an Advanced Diploma from Denbigh High School and went on to attend Virginia State University on a full Presidential Leaders Scholarship. After four years, I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. This quest for knowledge continued during my first years as an elementary school teacher. I worked hard to learn from seasoned educators and make a difference in the Title I school I served. During this time I started an after school mentoring program for at-risk fourth and fifth grade girls. I also served as Chairman of the Board of Directors for Self Protection Awareness, a non-profit healthy lifestyle organization. I decided it was time to take my education to the next level and enrolled in Regent University’s Master Teacher Program. Upon completion, my family decided to relocate to Georgia. The move to Georgia allowed me to put into practice many programs I had taken part in and founded while working in Virginia. During the first few years, I revitalized the Partners in Education Program for Peek’s Chapel Elementary School. As the Parental Involvement Committee Chairperson, Students Support Team Representative, Building Leadership Team Member, Club Peek’s Director, Grade Level Team Leader, and School Level Strategic Plan Action Team Leader, I was able to influence many of the policies currently in place at the school. As one cannot grow without continuing to learn, the decision was made to pursue Leadership Certification. While enrolled in Georgia State University, I took part in an England Study Abroad Program. Many of the things I observed were put into practice with the approval of school administrators. In 2008, I was asked to join the year-long Rockdale Leadership Academy Training Programs for Aspiring Administrators. My progressive approach and dedication to success for all, led to me being asked to serve as an Action Team Leader for the District-Level Strategic Plan. M
