Shena' Carter

Shena' Carter

In January 2006, at the age of 17 years old, Shena' Carter joined the North Carolina National Guard. Shena' Carter graduated from Warren County High School in June 2006. She then went and completed Basic Combat Training for the Army National Guard. When she returned home, she attended a year at North Carolina Central University in Durham, NC. That following summer she attended Advanced Individual Training for the Army National Guard. When Shena' graduated she started her second year at NCCU but it was cut short when she got deployed to Iraq. She was deployed from 2008-2009. When she returned home, she attended Vance-Granville Community College in Henderson, NC. Two years later, in December 2011, Shena' graduated with an Associate's in Early Childhood Education. January 2012, she went back to NCCU and is now completing her Bachelor's in Birth through Kindergarten Teacher Education. Shena' believes with the power of education, you can do anything. Everyone should get a higher education no matter what it is in because your education is something no one can take away.
