Simy Carvalho
My name is Simy Carvalho and I am a freshman at the University of Georgia. I was born on February 10, 1994 in Atlanta, Georgia. Since then I have lived in Alpharetta, with my parents and little brother, Lucas. I have recently graduated from Lambert High School in Suwanee, Georgia where I was involved in National Honor Society, student council, and volunteering. My favorite experience from high school would have to be spending every Tuesday night tutoring underprivileged Hispanic children in my community. This rewarding experience has inspired me to continue volunteering for the rest of my life. One thing that makes me unique is my dual American and Brazilian citizenship. Being American and Brazilian has definitely opened my eyes to new cultures and ways of life. Spending my summers in Brazil has sparked my passion for travel since an early age. With this desire to become in contact with multiple countries and customs, I have selected International Business as my major. Through this major I know I will be able to work at the worldwide level that I have always dreamed of. While working towards my major I plan to study abroad in Spain and become extremely involved in Athens. With the multiple organizations the University of Georgia has to offer, I know I will find multiple places to dedicate my time until I graduate. I am very excited to see what my next four years in Athens has in store for me!
