Schias was born in Texarkana, Texas, and moved with her family to Dallas, Texas, in 1982 where she was raised. Schias attended Lake Highlands High School and has always had a love for the arts. She studied music under the direction of classical flutist, Valerie Pettys, and became a proficient flutist during her teenage years.

Schias has acted on both network and cable television and also records voice-overs for commercials and promos. Schias received acclaim for her role as "Sharon Barrow" in the short narrative film "They Lost It" which was featured in several film festivals throughout the USA. Schias will co-star as "Detective Brown" in the upcoming feature film "Stranger" in development for a 2014 release.
