The History Advocates at the University of South Carolina is a group of students and faculty concerned with the effect public policy has on the field of history. We promote for our discipline both locally and nationally while also educating others about the importance of advocacy.
Our mission as The History Advocates is to strive to make the benefits of studying history visible to the community and policymakers.

We work to:
- Create opportunities for work done by the History Dept to be visible to the South Carolina communities.
- Build relationships with local and regional historical institutions.
- Encourage students to advocate for history by participating in advocacy for campaigns, engaging with policymakers, and attending advocacy training events.
