Hi there, my name is Jamison - it's great to have you here.

Allow me to share a little bit about myself before I get to know you. I am a keen learner who prioritizes connection in my community, professionally and personally. Nearly two years ago, I co-founded Special Bird Service - a Birdwatching and outdoors group that sets out to reclaim nature as an inclusive and safe space for Indigenous and Black folks and People of Colour (IBPOC) and those who identify as LGBTQ2S+.

Reconnecting and re-grounding in community means so much to me, especially as an occupier on the lands in which I was born and raised - the unceded and stolen territories of the W̱SÁNEĆ First Nations and lək̓ʷəŋən Peoples, near what is called “Victoria, British Columbia”.

I've spent the last year working with Resilience BC Anti-Racism Network learning how Canada's history of colonialism has systematically created the racist society we see today.

This anti-racist learning journey continues to be equally challenging and fulfilling, and teaches me patience and communication skills unlike any commitment I've made before.
